574 Flag for 2007 American Football World Cup
Complex reports:
“This July, New Balance will release two limited edition “Flag” versions of their 574 model. Designed by the NB Japan team, the two models garner inspiration from the upcoming American Football World Cup, which is held every four years. This year, the competition will take place throughout the month of July in Kawasaki, Japan. Both U.S and Sweden models (The Sweden models are much doper than the U.S) will hit U.S soil July 4th and will retail for $65.”

M576ALIF ALIFE Update
The folks at New Balance contacted NBB to clarify that the ALIFE 576 (previously) will unfortunately not be making it to production. Here’s the official word:
New Balance did work with ALIFE on the collaboration project which was originally planned as a three shoe collection along with Sportie LA and Concepts at the Tannery in Boston. Due to reflective materials used in the ALIFE project and New Balance’s production methods, we were unable to produce the shoe as it was designed. So, the project will not be launched as planned. New Balance is eager to bring this collaboration to life, and the two brands are in discussions for an alternate project, but no date has been set for the release. Please Stay tuned!

Thanks to NB and ALIFE for the update. I must say I’m disappointed this particular shoe will not be produced with the other ones but I look forward to seeing what they come up with for the future!

Update — more pics here.
Xymon again with more details on the New Balance AVENJ artist series 574 (previously).
Much like the previous artist editions by Josh Wisdumb and Eric Haze, this time NB presents Sean D’Anconia of Her Majesty’s Secret studios.
The shoe pays homage to 70’s grindhouse cinema using a collage of the icons of the era: streets of Harlem to the skyscrapers of Hong Kong, from Yakuza to KungFu. Check out the detailing in the closeups below.

Trivia: Sean regularly slips references to Atlas Shrugged in his artwork…have a good close look if you get your hands on this

Xymon has dropped some more knowledge and pics on the upcoming New Balance 3-Store Collaborations produced by the Super Team 33 group in Skowhegan, Maine. All three 576’s are US Tier 0 releases.
Alife presents the high-concept M576ALIF with an all-over reflective silver upper and clear outsole. Perfect for legging it in the dark amongst the taxicabs of NYC.
Cambridge, MA’s Concepts Tannery has the yellow, white and turquoise M576TNRY with some patent and reflective details, Nubuck toebox & heel, suede vamp, clear and rubber outsole. (previously)
Last up is the now-familiar black Sportie LA M576SPLA with rainbow polkadots, patent toe, carbon fiber heel and pinstripes. Based on our comments this one is a strong divider! (previously)
