MT580 American Fall 2009 roundup
Here are all three Fall 2009 colorways of the MT580s that are starting to pop up stateside.

“With the exception of 3 new colors combinations offer, purple/black, black/black, and yellow/gray, the New Balance MT580 still retains much of its technical features which both runners and urbanites love. A mid-sole composed from ENCAP polyurethane technology intermixed with the C-CAP EVA material. Both provide a lasting yet lightweight foundation. The ROLLBAR, made of graphite, further give the MT580J added lateral support. The uppers still retain the same breathable nylon mesh interlaced with panes of leather. Look for official release information soon.”

The MT580 all-grey is at Zappos for US $90 and probably loads of other stores.

Also David Z over in NYC is still selling the Black/Purple MT580KP previewed on NiceKicks.com:
“The upper is a pearlized black leather with a very unique material across the back and lower side panels. The midsole and side TPU are covered with splattered yellow and purple paint to tie together the varsity colors that make their way onto the N side logo and Rollbar.”

574 Flag for 2007 American Football World Cup
Complex reports:
“This July, New Balance will release two limited edition “Flag” versions of their 574 model. Designed by the NB Japan team, the two models garner inspiration from the upcoming American Football World Cup, which is held every four years. This year, the competition will take place throughout the month of July in Kawasaki, Japan. Both U.S and Sweden models (The Sweden models are much doper than the U.S) will hit U.S soil July 4th and will retail for $65.”

M576ALIF ALIFE Update
The folks at New Balance contacted NBB to clarify that the ALIFE 576 (previously) will unfortunately not be making it to production. Here’s the official word:
New Balance did work with ALIFE on the collaboration project which was originally planned as a three shoe collection along with Sportie LA and Concepts at the Tannery in Boston. Due to reflective materials used in the ALIFE project and New Balance’s production methods, we were unable to produce the shoe as it was designed. So, the project will not be launched as planned. New Balance is eager to bring this collaboration to life, and the two brands are in discussions for an alternate project, but no date has been set for the release. Please Stay tuned!

Thanks to NB and ALIFE for the update. I must say I’m disappointed this particular shoe will not be produced with the other ones but I look forward to seeing what they come up with for the future!
